The RAM 1500 RHO is the brand's new high-performance off-road weapon, picking up where the TRX left off — an over-500-hp twin-turbo Hurricane inline-six, Bilstein shocks, and 35-inch tires built to dominate the dirt. The one thing it doesn't come with from the factory? Real trail lighting. That's where the right LED kit turns your RHO from "looks fast" into "see everything, anywhere."
This guide covers every way to light up your RHO — what fits, how to choose colors, how to wire it, and what's street-legal — so you can build the setup you actually want the first time.
What lighting fits the RAM 1500 RHO
Every M&R kit is built specifically for the RHO. No universal brackets, no "close enough," no guesswork — and no drilling. Each kit bolts on using your truck's factory openings and hardware, and comes with a step-by-step video install guide.
- 23" light bar (the popular choice). Fits the factory opening between the grille and bumper for a clean, integrated factory look with a serious beam down the trail. Comes in two builds: PRO for maximum output and SLIM for a lower profile and lower price (from $274.99). This is our best-selling RHO kit.
- 40" light bar. Mounts in front of the grille on a slim, powder-coated black bracket for the widest, brightest spread. Also available in PRO and SLIM.
- Ditch lights. Hood-mounted LED pods that light up the sides of the trail — in Spot (standard) or brighter Driving-pattern PRO.
- Fog light kit. A dual-color upgrade that replaces the factory fogs for far more usable light in dust, fog, and rain.
- Reverse light. A white LED flood pair that floods the area behind the truck for backing up, trailers, and camp.
Run any one of these on its own, or stack them for a complete front-to-back setup. Start with the 23" light bar if you want the biggest single upgrade.
White or yellow, PRO or SLIM: how to choose your light bar
M&R builds the RHO light bar in two tiers, and the color options differ between them.
PRO bars (our brightest, most refined). Every PRO bar is dual-color: a high-output main beam paired with a soft, street-safe amber DRL backglow. You pick the main beam color:
- White main — a crisp, maximum-brightness driving beam for wide-open trails. (The best-selling 23" PRO measures around 7,000 lumens, with a 13,000-lumen theoretical max, off a 72-watt Luminus LED setup.) Off-road use only.
- Yellow main — cuts through dust, snow, rain, and fog far better than white light, with the same street-safe amber DRL. Choose this if you regularly run in bad weather.
PRO bars also upgrade to a TIR optic lens, a 304-aluminum housing, and a thermal-management system that adjusts output with temperature.
SLIM bars (lower profile, lower price). A thinner, more affordable bar available in three options: White, Amber, or dual-function White + Amber DRL. White is the brightest (the 23" SLIM measures around 6,700 lumens, the 40" SLIM around 11,400), while Amber output runs a bit lower but cuts through dust, fog, snow, and rain. The dual-function option adds the same street-safe amber DRL backglow as the PRO.
The amber DRL is purely cosmetic and street-safe — it won't blind oncoming drivers, so you can run that accent anywhere. The high-output white, yellow, and amber main beams are for off-road use only.
Exact lumen output for every bar and size is listed under "Light Specs" on its product page.
Not sure? Most RHO owners go PRO and pick White for maximum brightness, or Yellow if they regularly wheel in dust, snow, or fog.
RAM RHO ditch lights
Ditch lights are hood-mounted LED pods that throw light out to the sides of the trail — exactly where your headlights go dark on tight corners, switchbacks, and off-camber climbs. They're fully adjustable: aim them straight ahead for extra reach down the trail, or angle them outward to catch obstacles, animals, and drop-offs in the ditches. Install is a clean bolt-on with no drilling, the hood still opens and closes freely, and they don't interfere with your wipers. Like the PRO bars, they're dual-color — a white main beam plus a street-safe amber DRL accent. There are two versions: the standard kit runs a Spot beam pattern, while the PRO kit steps up to brighter 40-watt pods with a wider Driving pattern for more reach and coverage.
RAM RHO fog lights
The fog kit replaces your factory fog lights with a far brighter, dual-color upgrade — one order covers both the driver and passenger side. It's a complete bolt-on using factory openings and hardware, with no cutting or drilling. You get a crisp white main beam (up to 12,000 lumens) for serious visibility in dust, fog, rain, and snow, plus the same street-safe amber DRL accent that matches the rest of the RHO's lighting. The white beam is for off-road use only; the amber DRL is street-safe.
RAM RHO reverse light
The factory reverse light barely cuts it once you're off the pavement at night. M&R's reverse kit adds a pair of powerful white LED flood pods that light up everything behind the truck — ideal for backing up to a trailer, reversing on the trail, or setting up camp. You choose your backlight color: amber (can be wired as turn signals) or red (wired as turn signals or a brake light). These are PRO-series pods with the upgraded TIR lens, 304-aluminum housing, and thermal management, and they bolt on with no drilling alongside your factory reverse light.
Wiring it up: AUX switches vs. wireless harness
Two ways to power your lights:
- Factory AUX switches. If your RHO is equipped with the factory upfitter/AUX switches, the kit plugs straight in. Clean and simple.
- Wireless harness. No AUX switches, or just want the easiest possible install? Our Wireless 8-Switch Harness runs everything off one rechargeable magnetic remote — no firewall drilling, no running wires through the cab. It mounts in minutes and controls every light and accessory you add later.
Installation: what to expect
If you can turn a wrench, you can do this in your driveway. Every RHO kit is a no-drill, bolt-on design that reuses factory openings and hardware, and ships with all the brackets and a step-by-step video walkthrough. Most installs take basic garage tools and an afternoon. Prefer to hand it off? Any local accessory shop can bolt it on using the same guide.
Every RHO install video:
- 40" Light Bar PRO install
- 40" Light Bar SLIM install
- 23" Light Bar install (full tutorial)
- 23" Light Bar quick install (no grille removal)
- Ditch Lights install (hood mount)
- Fog Light Kit install
- Reverse Light Kit install
Every M&R kit is also IP68-rated — dust-tight and waterproof — and backed by our lifetime warranty, so it holds up to mud, river crossings, and everything the trail throws at it.
Is it street-legal?
Our LED kits are designed and sold for off-road use. The amber DRL backglow is street-safe — it's a soft cosmetic accent that won't blind oncoming drivers. The high-output white, yellow, and amber main beams are for off-road use only. Lighting laws vary by state and locality, so it's on the owner to know the rules where they drive.

FAQ
Does the RHO light bar require drilling?
No. Every M&R RHO kit is a complete bolt-on using factory openings and hardware — no cutting or drilling required.
What's the difference between the 23" and 40" light bars?
The 23" bar fits the factory opening between the grille and bumper for a cleaner, more integrated look — it's our most popular RHO choice. The 40" bar mounts in front of the grille for the widest, brightest spread. Both come in PRO (max output) and SLIM (lower profile).
Which color should I get for my RHO?
PRO bars come with a street-safe amber DRL plus your choice of main beam: White for maximum brightness on open trails, or Yellow to cut through dust, snow, rain, and fog. SLIM bars come in White, Amber, or White with an amber DRL. The amber DRL is street-legal; the high-output main beams are off-road only.
Do I need the wireless harness?
Only if your RHO doesn't have factory AUX switches, or if you want the simplest install. With factory AUX switches, the kit plugs right in.
Are these lights waterproof?
Yes — IP68 rated (dust-tight and waterproof) and backed by a lifetime warranty.
